Eleonora is an fierce performance of dance, music and projections where two stories of passion and
redemption are told upon the stage in an elegant night of theater.

This first show in our season celebrates Edgar Allan Poe and Clive Barker. Both writers are best known
for their vivid imaginations and macabre stylings, but this evening the darkness in the visions of both
writers will be illuminated and softened by the enchantment of romance.
In telling the story of “Eleonora”, it is important to note that this is Poe’s only story where love is
rewarded and the hero is redeemed at the end of his tale. Unique and stirring, this piece is set to dance
and theatrics by the careful direction of Astra Dance Company, founded by David Wilkinson and
Regan Remy.

Opening our evening of passion is a poem of Clive Barker’s entitled “I Dreamed I Spoke In Another’s
Language”. A beautiful piece of love and longing, told by a living legend of modern fiction.

Astra Dance Company brings together an intense ensemble of dancers and performers and creates a
lively night in the beautiful and historic El Portal Theatre. Complimentary libations are offered to all
attendees during intermission, including limited wines and spirits.
